i get a error like this when it is congfigured

I also had this problem on Linux, but found this was due to the setting
of the CDPATH environment variable.

When I unset CDPATH, it was fine. I think that if '.' isn't explicitly
in the CDPATH variable, then the /bin/sh implementation of cd won't
look in the current directory. Unsetting CDPATH (or adding . to CDPATH)
will fix this problem.
